Kaitlyn Farrington did really well at the Copper Revolution event this week. The level of competition in this series has really stepped up! She placed 2nd in the pipe and received an award for trick of the day with her cab 7. Kaitlyn definitely has a run to watch at next weeks X Games!
Oh! And Faye Gulini placed 4th in the pipe too. She has been focusing on pipe as much as slope and she’s really starting to do well in this competitive field. Pipe finals are today! Full Event Recap

Faye Gulini gave up a lot to pursue a life in snowboarding. At 15, she moved from Salt Lake City, Utah, where she had been born and raised, to Vail, Colorado to chase a dream. Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy has provided Faye the canvas to paint her development in snowboarding, the course of which her instructors say could take her all the way to the Olympics. But snowboarding is just the beginning of Faye Gulini’s incredible story of bravery and heart on and off the mountain.
SAAS-FEE, Switzerland (Oct. 31) – Janne Korpi of Finland and China’s Jiayu Liu took home the top honors during the season’s second halfpipe World Cup in Saas-Fee, Switzerland on Friday.
Faye Gulini (Salt Lake City) finished 9th in the women’s competition and led the way for a small group of U.S. competitors which included Olympian Andy Finch in 13th, 2002 Olympic bronze medalists JJ Thomas (Golden, CO) in 14th, Keir Dillon (Carlsbad, CA) in 15th, and U.S. Snowboarding Rookie Brennen Swanson (Stillwater, MN) in 19th.
Japan’s Kohdai Watanabe (no direct relation to American snowboarder Graham Watanabe) was second for the men, followed by Ilkka-Eemeli Laari of Finland. In the women’s competition, Japan’s Shiho Nakashima was second and Sophie Rodriguez of France was third.
